ATLWOOD® History
Billions of dollars are generated each year through the music industry, film/television industry, sports industry, fashion industry, gaming industry and many others. But one industry, in particular, is giving Hollywood a run for it's money. From the fiscal year of 2008 to present day, the film industry in Atlanta, Georgia has generated billions & billions of dollars in revenue. And the best is yet to come! The City, County, State and Federal officials with pull, are rallying around Atlanta to continue to boost the economy and attract worldwide/global tourism through the enormously successful tax . The film industry in Atlanta has galvanized and uplifted the entertainment business, corporate business small business, even mom and pop business!
For this reason the entire world calls Atlanta, Georgia "The New Hollywood" AKA
"ATLWOOD®"!
ATLWOOD® is more than just a brand, it's "The New Promise Land". People from all over the world come to Atlanta inspired to chase their dreams. For many years countless superstars in entertainment and Fortune 500 businesses were created in Atlanta. Anyone who works hard and has that passion to excel can go from being homeless living in their car to being worth over $400 million . . . just ask Tyler Perry!
Former entertainment industry executive Scotty Scott is the Founder & Owner of the All Rights Reserved Trademark for the ATLWOOD® brand. He currently has an apparel clothing line associated with the brand and next up will be ATLWOOD® Films, ATLWOOD® Fitness & Nutrition, ATLWOOD® Electronics Technology & the ATLWOOD® Cares Charity Division. In the near future Scott plans on creating the ATLWOOD® Tourism Center, ATLWOOD® Walk of Fame & the ATLWOOD® Casino and Resorts just to name a few plans Scott has in store.
Once known to the world as the "Motown of the South", captivating the airwaves from such music industry labels as Laface Records and So So Def Recordings, the City of Atlanta began to rise like a Phoenix! Atlanta was also known as "Hotlanta".
Some of the most beloved and influential sports superstars such as Hank Aaron (Atlanta Braves), Dominique Wilkins (Atlanta Hawks), Dale Murphy, (Atlanta Braves) and Deion Sanders (Atlanta Falcons), were the first to bring a special type flare to Atlanta, making many referred to the city as "Hotlanta". Ted Turner was hands down the Media Mogul who challenged the norm and created Turner Studios, which is a big reason why Atlanta began to be called ATLWOOD®. Turner single handedly took the city from a local situation to a worldwide global force through his Media, Sports and Film/Television empire (TBS, TNT, Turner Sports, CNN, Turner Field). The film industry emergence is mostly because of the amazing tax breaks for filming in the State of Georgia. Chick-fil-A CEO and Trilith Studios (Formerly Pinewood Atlanta Studios) Owner Dan T. Cathy is also a force to be reckoned with in the world of entertainment. His exclusive deal with Marvel Studios has taken the ATLWOOD® brand to the Next Level!
Some of the highest rated and most popular reality shows have been filmed in Atlanta and surrounding areas. Double Divas, The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Love and Hip Hop Atlanta, Married To Medicine, Big Rich Atlanta, Chrisley Knows Best, The New Atlanta, among others have proven that the world tunes in to what Atlanta has going on. As far as TV/Sitcoms, I think it is fair to say that Tyler Perry has that genre on lock (For Better or Worse, House of Payne, The Haves and The Have Nots, Meet The Browns, among others on Oprah Winfrey's OWN Network. Nick Cannon and MTV invaded Atlanta with the #1 rated show called Wild-N-Out (Filmed at Tyler Perry Studios).
Forbes Magazine recently posed the question "Is Atlanta Becoming A Hotbed For Startups", (http://www.forbes.com/sites/groupthink/2014/11/05/will-at...) so not only is Atlanta raking in billions in the entertainment industry, but also in the world of startups.
The Gaming Industry is another hidden treasure that boosts the Atlanta, Georgia economy, don't sleep on them, this industry rakes in billions of dollars every year and has an amazing following.
